Your dental cleaning is the most important visit of the year. Our hygienists remove the tartar and plaque that a toothbrush can’t reach (scaling), then polish your teeth. The dentist then checks your teeth and gums and answers your questions.
What the appointment includes
- Scaling: removal of tartar above and below the gum line;
- polishing of the teeth;
- an exam of your teeth and gums by the dentist;
- advice tailored to your mouth.

For adults, the first complete exam and the cleaning take place at two separate appointments, so your cleaning can be planned around what the exam revealed. How your first visit works.
